ABOUT US
Plymouth TSG was reactivated in 2007 to provide a social forum for trainees, recently qualified solicitors, paralegals, legal executives and LPC students local to Plymouth and the surrounding areas. While the majority of our trainees are from Plymouth, we are keen to have a large active group and would welcome trainees from Cornwall and West Devon too.

The Plymouth TSG is an invaluable resource for all local trainees. We offer the chance for members to socialise with each other and various professionals within the area. Useful contacts and relationships can be made at our social events, not to mention they are actually a good night out!!

A DRINKS EVENING WITH A DIFFERENCE !!!
Plymouth TSG in conjunction with Hays Legal, invite you to Join us for an evening cruise around Plymouth Sound.

OUR EVENTS
Charity Quiz/Auction
The new TSG will be hosting a further Charity Quiz and Auction later in the Autumn. The event in November 2006 attracted an array of teams from the local business community including lawyers, accounts and barrister and was a very successful event enjoyed by all. As the beers kept coming, our committee hosts ensured that the purse strings became looser! We had over 100 participants and the event raised over £1,000 for St Luke’s Hospice Plymouth, a centre well known in the area for providing care for people with life limiting illnesses.
Socials
A variety of Social Drinks evenings were organised over the 2006/2007 year and the committee will also be continuing the regular Social drinks evening held at various locations throughout Plymouth.
Ball
The 4 May 2007 saw the hugely awaited Ball. This year saw a ‘Casino Royale’ themed bash with all the trimmings at the Elfordleigh Golf and Country Club. Reception cocktails, a sumptuous 3 course dinner and live Jazz band ensured the evening got off to a cracking start. The blackjack tables were then rolled out and as the cocktails were shaken and stirred, people took to the floor, dancing into the early hours. It was a thrilling evening enjoyed by all and many thanks must go the sponsors – Plymouth Law Society, Hudsons legal, Wolferstans and Totallylegal - and committee members with whom the evening would not have been possible.
The previous committee put in excellent efforts over the year 2006/2007 to develop wide links within the Plymouth area between the young legal profession and other professionals and businesses and this is something the new committee will be carrying through and building upon.
PLANS FOR THE FUTURE
- Charity Quiz in aid of St Luke’s Hospice.
- Christmas Party / Pre Christmas Party / Dinner
- Continued participation in local events such as the Stratton Creber dinner.
- Various Careers Evenings with local businesses and professions, the Plymouth Legal Practice Course and for those nearing qualification.
- Sporting events between the TSG and local business, accountants, doctors, surveyors etc.
- Events between Exeter, Devon and Plymouth TSG’s.
