The Spanish law firm, Monereo Meyer & Marinel-lo Abogados, is looking for suitable candidates to join our team.

You will be working principally with a US partner and British associate on behalf of international clients in the Madrid office. The practice areas include company law, commercial law, land law, commercial litigation and alternative dispute resolution. You will assist by doing research work and preparing legal documents and memoranda on these practice areas according to your level of experience. Many matters concern cross-border trade and have international or EU law implications.

You should be able to communicate fluently in English and have some knowledge of Spanish. An understanding of German or Polish will be considered an advantage.

Preference will be given to those applicants who are more senior or who have completed their undergraduate studies.

FRANCO-BRITISH LEGAL CAREERS FORUM

All law students, trainees and recently qualified lawyers are invited to attend the Forum, which is organised in conjunction with the College of Law.

Members of the Panel will speak and answer questions on different aspects of legal careers at the interface between British and French Law, both in the UK and France. They will describe their experience of practice in the two jurisdictions, in private practice or as an in-house lawyer. All talks will be in English but questions in French and English are equally welcome. Questions on recognition of qualifications and cross-border practice regulation can also be dealt with.
